Interstage 2024: SOPHY WONG

Interstage is a pop concert production crafted by the students at the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Led by the veteran concert producer HONG Ka Chun, Sophy WONG and five students will co-create the seventh Interstage this year.

As a singer-songwriter, Sophy WONG constantly experiments with different musical styles, such as electronic music, soul, and murmurs, seamlessly transitioning between rhythms and beats. Songs flow like water, permeating pores, blending diverse genres in a harmonious collision. "FLUID", her 2023 album, documents her struggles in this period. She returned to her roots, embracing life and accepting her multifaceted self, reclaiming her identity as an independent singer-songwriter in 2024.

Interstage 2024 tells the story of Sophy WONG's chaos and unease, using music to comfort herself. From within, she shapes a sensational journey that leads the audience in. She believes that music is an object of experience, with each piece capturing the emotions and state of a particular moment. Every listening experience is to relive the story of that time.
